Gender Segregation in the Workplace

"Kimberly A. Elkjer, a partner at Scheef & Stone LLP, is suing the Dallas-based law firm over a policy that banned male and female employees from working alone together. The suit alleges that in-office gender segregation, and the firm's no-fraternization policy that prohibited socializing outside of work, prevented women from being promoted at the same rate as their male colleagues."* A lawyer in Texas says a rule in her workplace forbidding office dating is so strict that she and her male colleagues are effectively segregated, and she's missing out on opportunities the male workers aren't.
